Anti-crisis shield and support for business
Loans for microentrepreneurs
One of the solutions of the Anti-Crisis Shield, which is addressed to the microentrepreneurs is the possibility to obtain the loan from the funds of the Labour Fund up to the amount of PLN 5,000.00 for the purposes of covering the current costs of business operations. The offer applies only to the entrepreneurs within the meaning of the act of 6 March 2018 – Law on entrepreneurs (J.L. of 2019, item 1292), who were operating their business before 1 March 2020.
The loan may be granted by the poviate governor (pl. starosta) on a single basis, pursuant to the agreement concluded with such microentrepreneur. The annual interest rate of the loan is fixed and amounts to 0.05 of the rediscount rate on bills of exchange rediscounted by the National Bank of Poland (NBP). The repayment period of the loan may not exceed 12 months, including a 3-months grace period for the repayment of the loan capital and interests, calculated from date of granting the loan.
According to COVID-19 Act, the loan together with interests may be canceled, on the condition that the mikroentrepreneur does not decrease the employment level maintained on date of 29 February 2020 for the period of 3 months from the date of granting the loan converted into full-time units.
Moreover, the COVID-19 Act includes a statutory delegation for the Council of Ministers to extend the term of the loan repayment, by way of a regulation, in order to counteract the pandemic, taking into consideration such circumstances as the period of the state of epidemic threat or the state of epidemic and the impact caused by them.
